TikTok LIVE leagues explained in short: leagues, the TikTok House Cup and LIVE Fest are competitions run by TikTok itself. TikTok calls them TikTok LIVE Campaigns: promotional activities that TikTok runs periodically, in which creators take part in missions and can earn a spot on the leaderboards. You find them in the app under TikTok Studio, LIVE, Activities, or before and during your LIVE via Activities. Campaigns differ by region and by period, so the rules of the campaign in your own app always apply.
What is a TikTok LIVE Campaign?
According to TikTok, TikTok LIVE Campaigns are promotional activities that are run by TikTok and occur periodically. During a campaign, creators can take part in different missions and earn a spot on the leaderboards. So campaigns are not organised by an agency or by creators, but by TikTok.
Good to know: campaigns differ by region and by period. A campaign you see in a video from another country may not be running for you, or may have different rules. TikTok itself says that, depending on your region, you might not be able to view activities before or during a LIVE.
Where do you find campaigns in the app?
From TikTok Studio:
- In the TikTok app, tap Profile at the bottom.
- Tap Menu at the top, then select TikTok Studio.
- Tap LIVE at the top.
- Tap Activities at the bottom, then select an activity.
From your LIVE:
- Tap Add post + at the bottom.
- Tap LIVE at the bottom. You may need to scroll across.
- Tap Activities, then select an activity. During your LIVE, you find them via More at the bottom, then Activities.
How do you take part in a TikTok LIVE Campaign?
Every campaign has its own rules. This is our advice for a good start:
- Read the rules in Activities before you start: when the campaign runs, what counts and whether you need to register first.
- Check what the missions ask and plan your LIVEs around them, at times that suit you.
- Tell your viewers you are taking part, for example with a LIVE Event and a short video.
- Follow your spot on the leaderboard in the app, but don't let your LIVE revolve around it.
You must be 18 or older to go LIVE and to receive Gifts. If you can't go LIVE yet, first read why can't I go LIVE on TikTok.
What is the TikTok House Cup?
The House Cup is a TikTok LIVE campaign announced by official TikTok LIVE accounts in several countries. Those public announcements show the idea: creators sign up, end up in a house (a team) and compete together with their house. In French it is called the Coupe des Maisons. The announcements link the House Cup to TikTok's LIVE Fest series. When an edition runs, who can join and how points count differ per edition and per region: you can read that under Activities in your own app.
TikTok LIVE leagues explained
Official TikTok LIVE accounts announce leagues as seasons that creators register for and in which they try to climb to the top. On TikTok you will see many creators explaining league levels with letters and numbers. We did not find an official TikTok help page that explains those levels. Whether a league is running in your region and what your level is, is best checked in your own app.
What is TikTok LIVE Fest?
When TikTok announced LIVE Fest, it described it as a global event across 50+ countries and regions to recognise and celebrate LIVE creators. The easiest way to take part was going LIVE during the campaign period. There were also special challenges and community rankings, in which creators were ranked automatically based on the points they collected. TikTok itself added that the criteria may vary by region.
Battles during a campaign
Many creators play more battles during a campaign, which TikTok calls LIVE matches. Check in the campaign rules whether and how battles count, and agree in advance who you play with. How a battle works is explained in our guide to TikTok battles.
Taking part without pressure
A leaderboard can be exciting, but your viewers are not a means to win. Giving is always voluntary: never ask for Gifts to get a spot on the leaderboard and never put anyone under pressure. Thank everyone who watches, comments, likes or shares. The Community Guidelines and the creator code of conduct also apply during a campaign, and breaking them can get you excluded from programs.
How SPA helps you with this
